The Women’s Precision Prevention Clinic takes place every Friday at St Bartholomew’s Hospital. The clinic is on the 1st Floor, Kenton Lucas Wing, Entrance C.
We offer in person, telephone and video appointments.

What services do we offer
- Multi-disciplinary advice and management for people known to have increased risk of gynaecological cancers due to a genetic alteration e.g. BRCA1/BRCA2/Lynch Syndrome; or a strong family history of cancer
- Personalised risk assessment, counselling and support for decision making regarding risk management options including risk reducing surgery, surveillance, medical prevention, reproductive options, contraception, HRT.
- Surgical Prevention
- Surveillance – endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer (in set up)
- Recruitment to clinical trials
- Psychological support
- Menopause management
- Fertility advice
- Genetic testing for those affected by gynaecological cancer and who meet current NHS eligibility criteria
What to expect at your first appointment
- You will meet a doctor and a clinical nurse specialist to discuss:
- your personal medical history and any family history of cancer
- your individual risk of gynaecological cancer with the information we have
- options for managing your risk of gynaecological cancer which may include risk-reducing surgery and cancer surveillance
- You will be able to ask questions and the team will make a plan about the next steps
- You may be offered the option to participate in research if appropriate
We understand that for some women, making decisions about managing their cancer risk can be difficult. Our team have experience supporting women with their decision making. You may be offered a referral to our Clinical Psychologist and Menopause/Fertility Specialist if this may help you.

Lead of Service: Professor Ranjit Manchanda - Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist & Professor of Gynaecological Oncology
Professor Ranjit Manchanda joined QMUL in 2015 as a Senior Lecturer. He was appointed as Professor of Gynaecological Oncology at Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH), QMUL in Sep 2019, and co-leads the Screening, Prevention and Epidemiology Unit at the Centre for Cancer Screening, Prevention and Early Diagnosis at WIPH. He is a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist at Barts Health NHS Trust and leads the Women’s Precision Prevention Service.
He is an Honorary Professor at the Department of Health Services Research, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine. He is the Specialty Research Lead for Gynaecological Cancer, National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), North Thames Clinical Research Network (CRN). He is an NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) Alumnus. Prof Manchanda completed a NIHR Academic Clinical Lectureship at UCL and subspecialty training in Gynaecological Oncology at UCLH and Barts Health. He member of a number of advisory and oversight committees.
Mr Michail Sideris – Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist
Michail is a Consultant Gynaecological Oncologist at the Royal London Hospital and an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at Queen Mary University of London. He completed his academic subspecialty training at the Royal London Hospital. He completed his doctorate thesis in molecular biomarkers of early rectal cancer at King’s College London and has published over 90 peer reviewed articles.
Dr Jyotsna Pundir – Consultant in Reproductive Medicine & Menopause
Dr Pundir is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery, and a special interest in menopause, at the Barts Health Centre for Reproductive Medicine. She is Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary, University of London.
She has more than 20 years of experience as a gynaecologist and has more than 10 years of experience in subfertility and assisted conception. She has been trained at UK’s prestigious tertiary fertility units including the Assisted Conception Unit, Guys and St’ Thomas’ as a Clinical Research Fellow and the Centre for Reproductive Medicine, St Bartholomew’s Hospital as an RCOG accredited Sub-speciality fellow.
Dr Pundir is experienced in providing care and advice for hormone replacement therapy in high-risk women, as well as in fertility preservation.

Mrs Guida Kurzer – Clinical Nurse Specialist
Guida is a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Women’s Precision Prevention Clinic. She coordinates the service under the lead consultants Prof Manchanda & Mr Dilley. She is a point of contact for patients via a dedicated email and phone number, and coordinates their care from first appointment to post-operative advice. She holds a BSc from King’s College (London) in Nursing and is an independent practitioner and a non-medical prescriber.
She enjoys working with women and has experience from working in variety of settings, such as benign gynaecology, menopause, family planning, research, infertility, gynaecology cancer and also has an interest in pregnancy and childbirth.
Yasmin Sharif – Clinical Nurse Specialist
Yasmin completed her BSc in Nursing at the University of West London and has experience in haematology/oncology. She worked as a nurse at Barts Health for four years, specialising in chemotherapy administration and the care of patients pre- and post-stem cell transplant.

High Risk Gynaecological Cancer Pan-London MDT
Professor Manchanda and the WPP Clinic team participate in the monthly High Risk Gynaecological Cancer Pan-London Multidisciplinary Team meeting, collaborating with other healthcare professionals with expertise in Clinical Genetics, Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology to provide an evidence-based personalised plan for each patient.
Referral Pathway
We accept referrals from NHS Clinical Genetics Services and other healthcare professionals including GPs, gynaecologists, breast surgeons, oncologists, and colorectal surgeons amongst others. The majority of our patients live in North and East London, although we accept patients from other parts of the country.

Barts Health department of Gynaecological Oncology is based at Royal London Hospital (Whitechapel Rd, London E1 1FR). Women’s Precision Prevention Clinic runs under the umbrella of Barts Health Gynaecological Oncology services. All the risk reducing surgical interventions take place at the Royal London Hospital. The team is composed of 6 Consultants, 2 Subspecialty Fellows, 1 ESGO Senior Fellow and 7 Junior Clinical Fellows.

Referral Pathway

The majority of patients referred to us will have a confirmed genetic diagnosis in genes such as BRCA1, BRCA2, PALB2, RAD51C, RAD51D, BRIP1, Lynch Syndrome, and others which lead to a higher risk of ovarian or endometrial cancer. We also accept referrals for patients with a strong family history of relevant cancers.

Department of Gynaecological Oncology
We have been involved in designing resources for women who have been diagnosed with gynaecological cancers.
